What problem was Multiline Online trying to solve?
Multiline Online is a wholesale distributor on Shopify. Standard Shopify shows the same price to every visitor. Wholesale distribution doesn’t work that way — different buyer accounts need different prices based on account tier and volume. Managing that manually over email, phone, or spreadsheets doesn’t scale.
What is SparkLayer and how does it solve this?
SparkLayer is a B2B ordering platform that layers onto Shopify. It creates a wholesale portal within the existing store — buyers log in, see their account-specific pricing, and place orders through a workflow built for B2B purchasing. Pricing logic lives in SparkLayer’s price lists tied to customer groups, so the right buyer always sees the right price automatically.
We also implemented a "Call for Pricing" display on specific products where pricing isn’t publicly listed — using a Liquid conditional in the theme template confirmed directly with SparkLayer support to ensure it didn’t conflict with their JavaScript pricing injection.
What Shopify automations were configured?
Shopify Flow automations were set up to handle customer tagging, account management triggers, and order processing workflows — reducing the manual steps that previously happened for every wholesale order.
What was the outcome?
Wholesale buyers now log in, see their pricing, and place orders independently. The right price is shown automatically. Orders flow through without back-and-forth. The team gets time back.
